Guest Walker are saying farewell to Lucy Pozman who has offered invaluable support to our Life Planning and Conveyancing departments. Lucy, speaking on her time at Guest Walker said:
“My time at Guest Walker began in July 2017, when I was given the opportunity of work experience in the Life Planning department during my university holidays. I shadowed the head of department in client meetings, which often involved visiting clients in their homes and hospices. I was impressed by the integrity of the Life Planning professionals and the personable and sensitive manner in which they managed their clients’ needs.
I was later employed as a part-time paralegal, alongside studying the Legal Practice Course in Leeds. I started in Life Planning, writing correspondence and drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney.
I later moved to the Residential Property department, providing administrative support. The team demonstrated how to holistically handle a conveyancing transaction with professionalism, efficiency and dedication. They took the time to give me comprehensive training in various tasks such as property searches and registering changes of ownership. The partners were very understanding of my studies, allowing me time off to revise and adapting to my university schedule.
I am now leaving Guest Walker to become a trainee solicitor at a firm in Lancaster. I hope to specialise in family law, where I will use the transferable skills I was taught at Guest Walker.
My year working at Guest Walker put my studies in a practical context and gave me commendable examples of legal professionals. I cannot thank Guest Walker enough for this invaluable experience.”
Thank you again for all your hard work Lucy, we all wish you success in your training and career!
