If you’re a residential tenant then your landlords now have to give you at least 6 months’ notice if they want you to leave. This is an increase from 2 months. Landlords are obviously not thrilled by this – particularly given that Court proceedings will also be needed if the tenant won’t budge at the end of the 6 months.
Our experience is that many landlords and tenants are taking a pragmatic view and sorting out issues like rent arrears between themselves.
Guest Walker are of course here to help if this isn’t possible to sort issues out directly and legal advice is needed! Get in touch with our commercial team for any help or advice that you may need.
