Our Fees

Always open and upfront

Something you never see on a solicitors’ homepage is a reference to fees – until now that is!

We are always open and upfront with our clients about fees and for residential property transactions will always offer you a clear fixed all in price in writing before you start. Many solicitors give a headline figure and then try to add on lots of hidden extras later. We don’t do that.

You can request a quote from our homepage.

We will almost always be able to carry out commercial property work for an agreed written fixed fee as well although we are happy to charge on an hourly rate basis if you’d rather. We can also link this to a cap (i.e saying that our fees won’t exceed a certain sum in any event) or a banded quote – e.g saying that our fees will be between £1,000 and £1,500 plus VAT, depending upon the amount of work involved. We will always keep you up to date with where you are if we do charge on an hourly basis rather than a fixed fee.

Once we know what’s involved we’ll also give you a fixed fee for preparing your Will or Lasting Power of Attorney. In fact, what we never do is to set the clock ticking and just charge what it says when it stops without any reference back to you in the meantime. This isn’t meant to happen to anyone these days but sadly it still does!

When extras such as Land Registry fees or Stamp Duty Land Tax are payable we will tell you what these are up front and be fully clear about when they have to be paid.

We are also flexible about how you pay, subject to certain restrictions on accepting large amounts of cash.

We aren’t embarrassed to talk about fees – so feel free to contact us for a no – obligation chat whenever you like – on the phone, by email or by coming here to see us at the office.

It won’t cost you anything to get a quote!

Being transparent about our fees, we have set our some examples which we hope are a useful guide – click here to view.
