The Office of Public Guardian (“OPG”) is the government department who in addition to supervising attorneys and deputies also arrange the registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney and Enduring Powers of Attorney.
The current OPG fee for registration is £82 and this will increase to £92 for applications received from 17 November 2025. This rise, which requires Parliamentary approval, is to ensure the income from applications better covers the cost of providing OPG services. Fee remissions and exemptions for those who qualify and are in receipt of low income will continue to be available.
If you are considering making a Lasting Power of Attorney or wish to have further information, get in touch with our Life Planning Team who will be happy to advise and assist you.
